The APAFQ is pleased to announce that the new mechanics documents for 3-, 4-, and 5‑official crews are now available.
These tools were developed to address a reality unique to Québec: we regularly officiate games with 3, 4, or 5 officials, while the rest of the country works almost exclusively with full crews. To ensure provincial consistency and support your work on the field, a complete manual covering positioning, movement, and coverage has been designed specifically for 12‑player football on a regulation‑size field.
Although the 3-, 4‑ and 5- official mechanic are not ideal, the document provides a thoughtful distribution of responsibilities and highlights areas that are uncovered or present increased risk. The goal is to offer you a clear, harmonized framework adapted to our context, while respecting national mechanics as much as possible.
